Is there a way to check the alternator on a 2000 Intrigue without removing
it from the vehicle?  I think the regulator may be bad and over charging my
battery.  If the check can be done with a multi-meter I have both a digital
and analogue model if one might work better then the other.

I'm no mechanic, but I know that there is a way, because I had to have it
done in my car once.  Indeed the regulator was bad, but since it was
integrated into the alternator, I had to have the whole thing replaced.

The mechanic (and I) were able to determine that with the alternator in the
vehicle, and the vehicle running.

A mechanic can give you details.
