okay this is probally an obvious answer ,but i'll post it anyway,my son just
bought a used 95 aurora,it has a remote starter and alarm system on it,did
these cars come or have an option of these features,or where they bought
aftermarket????

the reason i'm asking is the car has symptoms of from time to time the car
won't start from the ignitionbut if you press the remote button it will,,
and the car lights tend to flicker on and off and have a ticking sound but
if you press the remote button switch it stops!   any ideas please   thanks

I would have to guess that it's an aftermarket installation. If you can find
out what brand/model (you would have to locate the module or find out from
the previous owner?) you could maybe go to the manufacturers web site and
download some documentation for it and reset it back to factory defaults
using a combination of the valet switch and remote and then see if you still
have the problems. Or maybe there's a FAQ on the web site or tech support
number you could call. Just a thought

As Guardian noted, you will have to find a way to reset the defaults for the
remote control box (cpu/brain).
I had a similar problem, of it not starting and then I got my car running
and couldnt get it to stop, till i pulled power from the remote control box.
