Hi,

my nephew inherited my dad's 1985 (I think) Olds Delta-88 Royal Brougham and
he's having trouble finding parts for it.  He specifically can't seem to
find a replacement opera light (elongated light on the pillar between the
front and back doors).  Does anyone know where to get these things and other
replacement parts?  He's tried all the wreckers and dealerships he can find.

Look for a "u pick 'em" junkyard in your area. Just ask if they have
that model or similar years in the yard. That's the best way to get
parts for these things. Not enough demand for twenty year old trim parts
for people to stock them.

Word of caution...
If these are the ones that are inset on a chrome plate, that is the entire
length of the pillar, they are "electroluminecent" and require a step up 110
volt transformer..Yes, that's right..Those baby's use high voltage, and are
fairly short lived..I had a 1984 Regency with those and I could not get
replacements new and tried a junk yard..Non of the ones I found were good..I
even snagged a couple of extra transformers, which were mounted under the
package shelf in the trunk..I finally gave up trying to find em....Good luck
tho!!! John
