i have a 1990 olds delta 88 royale. it only has about 80,000 mi on it. when
i got it we changed the brake pads, spark plugs, air filter, and have keep
the oil changed regularly. a while back the transmission fluid was leaking
because of the tranny pan gasket. but we tightened the bolts, replaced the
fluid and it hasn't leaked since. well, for a while now it will sometimes
shake when in drive or reverse but not in park or neutral.  this only
happens sometimes.  when it is acting like this it will also have problems
shifting gears.  what could the problem be?

Umm....thrown weight?  Bad bearings on the ball joints?

I'm going to venture a guess and say it needs new ignition wires, or
you've got a vacuum leak somewhere (broken hose, for example).
