The gas tank on my '73 Toronado is beginning to leak (just slightly) in one
spot at the seam. I suspect internal rusting and that it's just a matter of
time before a catastrophic failure. Any external repair will be temporary at
best and replacement fuel tanks are proving to be very difficult to find.
Question is this: Does anyone know of any other vehicles that used the same,
or similar, fuel tank? Eldorado or Riviera of the same vintage maybe???
Nobody I've talked to seems to know for sure.
Any help on this would be much appreciated. TIA

I've looked into this a bit and what I've found is that the _tanks_ are
often the same but the _necks_ are different between similar cars. Look
for a tank with the same volume that same year and then have the neck
from your tank welded on. Might work!
Also, I was really surprised that I could get a new tank for my '73 Riv
at Bumper-to-Bumper for about $200.

They sell a lot of gas tanks on ebay. You might try looking there or
contacting one of the companies that sell gas tanks on ebay.

Some radiator shops in my area also do gas tanks. They order aftermarket
tanks and I think they may match necks (or re-use yours) on the new tank.
It's been a while, but I had it done on an old Cutlas I had and it wasn't
all that costly.
