Had this car almost a year, and now that it's winter I've noticed that the
car doesn't put out very much heat, even on full blast. Don't get me wrong,
there's plenty of air moving, it's just not hot air. I was on a 6 hour road
trip the other night, in -40 weather, and I about froze to death.

Any suggestions?

40 below!!! First suggestion: move south, way south.
Before you move you should check to make sure you have plenty of coolant and
it is the correct mix for your arctic conditions. You might also make sure
you have a thermostat, it is the correct one, and is not stuck open.

Thanks for the input, I had already planned to check the thermostat first
thing in the morning.

The thermostat is so easy to change in this engine that it's not worth
checking.  Takes about three minutes if the bolts come right out.

If I had listened to you, sir, I would not have rode around the city all day
today toasty as can be. The $10 part fixed the problem, and as you said was
very simply to change. It took probably 60 seconds.

=)
