Anyone know what a 1967 425 out of a Delta 98 would be worth. Motor turns
free, you can hear the compression as you turn it by hand. The original
tarter is shot. We put a 350 starter on it and it don't seem to be heavy
duty enough to turn it over. 67,149 miles on the Speedo we got the car to
demo it but would hate to heat up a engine that would be worth something to
someone who wants to build a street car.

Would like to add that if I am correctly reading the VIN number to identify
the engine HP it seems to me that it is the R = 365.

If that 425 has a 4 bbl carb and 10.25:1 compression the HP
rating is 365 @ 4800 rpm and 470 ft. lbs. of torque @ 3200.

That would be the one.

Hard to say...

Maybe $1500 (or more) re-built by a professional shop.

Maybe $300 "as is"

Thanks. Looks like we will just leave it in the car and demo it instead.

Carl....my junk yard friend would try to sell that engine 'as is' for right
around $600. His general rule is Cid times 1 1/2. He's been getting $800 for
454 chevies, $500+  for mopar 383's ect... An Olds engine might be a tough
sell though unless you found someone looking for one.
