96 Aurora. had the case halves fixed from leaking. Later @62000 miles totally looses oil pressure. I bought the car new & had all the service work done on schedule. the dealer couldn't find the problem. said possible internal crack in the block. had to put in a factory fresh new engine.(thank God for extended warranties) Has anyone heard of this before or know someone it happened to? Thanks Grayl in Phx
In the southern Minnesota area, I am not aware of this happening, nor with
the big brother North Star engine. I have the latter with about 55K and no
trouble at all.

Wow..! No I haven't heard of that.. I have a 1997 Aurora with 145k
on the engine. It still runs great, thank god! The one problem mine
*is* having is that the oil pan gaskets are leaking. That'll cost $$$
to fix. But it's a slow leak right now so I'm not going to worry
about it too much...
The other problem I've had is that I'm now putting the *THIRD* A/C
compressor into it. Thank god they've all been under warranty or I'd
be cheesed.... :P

I also have an '97 Aurora with case halves leaking. It is too bad that GM
won't fix those for free. I was too stubborn to get the extended warranty.
Now, of course, I wish I had. I have heard that the problem is common with
Aurora V8s. Last year, I got an estimate to get the leak fixed and it was
$2200.
