My blinker column has broken off for something like the 3rd time.  Bought
the car new in '89.  Just wondering if anyone else has had this type of
problem?

Well I have a 1990 Cutlass Supreme that I bought new and there was a
recall for something like this.  I believe that the problem had
something to do with the turn signals, but they fixed it under warranty.
I suggest that you check with an Olds dealer (before they do the way
of the Dodo bird) and see if there was a recall for this problem.
However, for an '89 Cutlass, it may be way too late for this.
