95 Mustang 5.0 developed a strange problem last week, I couldn't turn it
off! Fortunately it has a manual transmission and I stall it, but
everything inside the car still had battery power. Replaced the Ignition
Lock and checked the Ignition Switch. I found the linkage between the Lock
and the Switch that is burried inside the steering column disconnected or
broken. After 2 days of dissambly, I found a 1/2" long pin that connects
the 2 pieces of linkage between the Lock and Ignition Switch to have
fallen out! The pin fits really tight when I reassembled it so I assume it
wasn't put togeather with all the love and care I'm used to from Ford! I
had to drill a small hole in the steering column to gain access to insert
the pin!

LOL.... Ford must have their own group. But good to hear that you solved the
problem!
