When is the Low Traction supposed to come on?

My light comes on for a few seconds sometimes when I back out of
the driveway and cut the wheel hard over.

I've also seen it when I took a sharp turn at two right angle streets and
then accelerated fairly aggressively, but I didn't spin at all.

I've seen this when backing.  If the turn radius is sharp enough, and
you're on the gas, the computer thinks one wheel is turning too much
faster than the other due to the different radii of the wheels' circles.
