I bought this 1991 Olds 88  from a neighbor because it was cheap and in
good condition. The owner says the batt. started running down over night a
few months ago but he had bought a Durrango and wasn't using the car
anyway so it wasn't too big of a deal.  He took it to 2 shops that said
they couldn't find the problem.  The owner grew up around his father's
shop and had been a B 52 crew cheif so he is mechanical.  He said he could
hear the idle air solenoid (I think that's what he called it) running with
the ignition off and thinks that is the problem.  He said he unhooked it
and the batt. didn't run down.  He thinks something  in the computer isn't
shutting power off with the ign. off. Does this problem sound familiar to
anyone?  Thanks

Nope, but it sounds like someone left the key in the ignition.  However,
I would be interested in hearing stories from the (former) B-52 crew
chief, please post them.    -PapaRick
