This may be more than one problem.  First of all,I have an
1988 Olds Cutlass Ceria with a new motor and transmission.  The problem is
first start of the day is very hard to
start.  I have to crank and crank.  Fuel pump is working,I
can hear it turn on and run.  Also, sometimes, when I drive
local and stop for a few minutes, it is hard to start too.
If when I stop, if I let it run for a couple of minutes it
will start back ok, if not it is hard to start.

As of today---the car won't do nothing.  When I turn on the
key, nothing happens.  Like the battery is dead.  No dash
lights or head lights either.  The car won't crank at all.
Please help me figure this one out.  I put a battery
charger on it, but the charger said the battery was charged.  So I put the
battery in another car and it worked
fine.  Put it back in the Ceria and nothing.  Like I don't
have a battery at all.

Have a new ECM as well as plugs, wires, crank sensor, cam
sensor, cleaned fuel injectors, replaced fuel filter.  Any
help would be appreciated.

Ground wires hooked up properly to engine and body?
SEP - 17 Jun 2004 04:49 GMT
Although the battery worked in another car, today I checked
the connectors to the battery.  The positive cable was
rusted.  Cleaned it and replaced the battery.  In doing so,
also found a couple of ground wires that were not connected
real tight.  Fixed these and the car started fine.  Glad I
did not take this one to GM...LOL.  As for the cold start
problem, I guess I will see in the morning if I have to
crank and crank.  Will update all once I attempt it
tomorrow.  hyundiatech, thanks for your help
