I have a Delta 88 1988. (172,000 miles) This weekend I replaced all plugs
(wires are tight)changed oil and filter and air filter. Now my "engine
needs service" light is on. (was not before.)

Car runs fine. (well..a little better than before...still chugs but that
is an ongoing problem that I will ask about later!)

Is there a way to reset the engine light? Was this a result from
disconnecting plugs? Or did I do something wrong?

Thanks.

I think I read somewhere that disconnectiong the battery for 5-10 minutes
resets codes.  You might try alt.autos.gm with your problem if you haven't
already.

This is what I read.  This is to erase codes disconnect batt for 15 sec.
It also says engine may run rough for awhile after codes are cleared.

Not sure if olds did this or not, but some vehicles have a module somewhere
in the dash that has to be reset, and of course at a garage. Also,. it's
somewhat possible that with the new plugs and all you may want to change
the oxygen sensor.
