Last night I left the Interior light on and of course in the morning the car
would not start. I called Triple A for a Jump Start. He tried his portable
Battery Jumper and that did not work. He hooked it up directly to the truck
battery and after a few minutes, it started right up. I re-set both clocks
but I also noticed that the outside Temp reading is a little off. It reads
that it is 35 below zero (actual Temp is around 65). Another thing is that
there is a aroma around the battery compartment, almost like rubber burning.
I visually checked all around the battery compartment, and nothing seems to
be out of place..... Is this something that I should be concerned with?

i think you should change your battery if its old and check all the wires
around the battery etc and look for cracks or any exposed wires and then if
you do change your battery see if the smell is still there if it is check
the belts and the altinator.
