The engine code beginning with "J" indicates that this is a 1963 394 ci, 4
bbl; making this most likely a 10.25:1 compression engine developing 330 hp
at 4600 rpm and 440 ft.lbs of torque at 2800 rpm. The 1963 Starfire engine
had a slightly revised cam, 10.5:1 compression and made 345 hp at 4800 rpm
and 440 ft.lbs of torque at 3200 rpm. You will need to do more research to
see which one you have. 1964 4 bbl engines had no letter code on the engine
number and the same cam as the '63 Starfire but still came with 330 or 345
hp versions, the 345 having higher compression and dual exhaust.
