Hi - A/C compressor goes cycles when the a/c is off.  Is this normal. Long
standing problem - drains battery and alternator (have had quite a few of
both).  GM has replaced everything except the car.  Car has just under
100K.  They have to disconnect the compressor to do a smog check, because
it changes the idle.  Any suggestions - by the way, GM (Lansing)has known
all along about the problem and stands behind the phrase " GM seeking a
solution to the problem" - Mother in law has 1992 model with no problems.
Is it a fuse problem.

Thanks so much.

I have the same model ('91 Ninety Eight) and have had no problems. I have
185,000 Miles.

Are you sure it is the A/C compressor  My 92 just wiped out the battery
have only put 10k on it since i got it in 97  The Level control
compressorkept starting and stopping     runs even with the car off  I
figure I have a bad air shock(leaking) or line to them.  I pulled the fuse
when I replaced the battery til I get a chance to check it out and fix the
line or shocks get replaced
