Alero Dome Light

Recently I discovered that reason the dome light in my daughter's car
didn't work was that it was completely disconnected with the wires
terminated in the headliner.  After purchasing the correct plug and wiring
it in, I discovered that the circuit supposedly contontrolled by the door
jamb pin switches did stays on all the time.

This vehicle has a complex lighting system which keeps the interior lights
on for 10-20 seconds after the doors are closed, turns on the lights when
the door handle is pulled, etc, etc.   I vainly tried to locate a relay
that might have been stuck but do not have a wiring diagram for this car.

I have seen vague references in other sites about wiring problems with the
2000 Aleros.

Has anyone seen this problem before and know of the solution (wiring
change, disconnect the dome light again?#$^^)

i had this prob but with the headlights, check the relay box, for me it was
a relay that was acting up, it was a little loose, i wiggled it, applied a
lil wd40 and good as new. maybe a door jam switch too?
