Well, I had JUST gone to a junkyard and cleaned out the spring sets
for holding on the air dam.  Installed them on the car so the dam was
held in the right place, and a couple days later DAMN!!!  A piece of
wood flew off the bed of a truck and got the damn thing.

Broke two of the springs.  And I KNOW there aren't any more in the
local junkyards.

Any recommendations on what to do with the dam?  The local Chevy
dealer says the equivalent Chevy dams are hard mounted, not spring
mounted.  I suppose I could just do that...

Are those springs too expensive at the dealer?

Haven't gotten to an Olds dealer yet, but the Chevy guys told me they
were outlandish.  But more than that, I was looking for a 'better way',
as they seem to be quite the consumable item.

The spring mounting sounds like a good idea to me.  The air dam on each of
my daughters' Grand Ams is hard mounted . . . and missing now.
