Look in you owners manual.  It should tell you there.  Some you turn the key
on (with engine off) and press the gas 3 times within 30 sec.  Some Gm's
have a button to press and hold.  Some actually have a oil reset feature.

Not in the manual.  Good old GM.

If it's the same as my 96, which I'm pretty sure it is, you push and release
the ENG button in the monitor panel until it brings up ?% Oil Life (it'' be
at 10% or less). Once the % display is up press and hold the RESET button
until the display flashes twice and changes to 100%.  That's it!

I have that information from a GM site.  However it appears they changed
it in 97 or 98 and I am not sure that it is the same for 99.  1998 was the
last year listed.

If it's just a dummy light instead of a variable display (which
wouldn't surprise me the way GM makes everything cheaper
all the time), it may be like the Alero's "reset" button, which
is in the driver's side dashboard fuse panel.
With key 'on', push "reset" repeatedly until the Change Oil
light is flashing (the Alero's reset button alternates between
resetting the Oil and the Low Tire Pressure warnings).
Hold in the button until the chime sounds (about 5 seconds).
Replace fuse panel cover, and forget it for another 7000 miles.
