Tow company came to get my 1976 Nintey-Eight coupe yesterday.
Had been sitting for a few years. Lots of Minnesota winter miles had not
been kind.
But damn. What a great car. 455. Power everything. Incredibly
comfortable. Front and back. Quiet. Proud.
In my younger days had headers on it. Still remeber the shocked faces as
my giant luxury car pulled away during stoplight races.
Guessing a neighbor called the city inspectors on it. The wife had been
nagging for years. Looked like a month of welding to get the body right.
The frame right. The floor pans right.
But geezus. What a car.
And no, they don't make them at all like that now.

I hear ya! I had an '80 98 Regency with a 390horse 455 from a '69
Toronado. 3.42 gears, biggest tires I could fit with the skirts on, REAL
leather interior, power EVERYTHING including power sunroof that worked and
didn't leak. The body on mine however was 100% perfect! Dang thing would get
like 17-19 on the freeway and about 5 city cuz I just could NOT keep my foot
out of it!
I feel your pain!

Sad news, but..........do you have any spare parts?
Specifically a rear bumper and front turn lenses.

I've got a bunch. Actually parted a '75 Ninety-Eight Coupe ten years
ago. Most in sad shape. I'll look around.
