i have 95 silhouette that continues to stall. problem seems to only
happen while either coming to a stop or while stopped though on
ocassion it has died at slow speeds and it will start right back up
again. i have also noticed some strange fluctuation with the rpm's
where they jump up from 800 to 2500 to 3000.  i brought my car in to
my mechanic and when it was scanned it came up with an egr code which
i then replaced since that time i have replaced the fuel pump, the
idle speed motor, crank shaft motor as well as numerous others parts.
my mechanic is stumped and i am still having this problem

any ideas or suggestions would be helpful

Transmission... The locking torque converter isn't releasing.

my mechanic disengaged the lockup and it still stalled. could the
torque converter still cause this?

I don't think so...

It did sound like the exact same problem I had with my '97 Regal though.

Vacuum leak?!?
