The alternator light is on. This following the replacement of the battery a few weeks before. It's a 1991 98 Elite. Does this necessarily mean a new alternator is in my future? How can I check without taking it to a shop? TIA John Check the voltage across the battery with the car of and running. It should show 12.5 to 13 volts at rest and 13.5 or better when running.
