Power window problem on Aurora

I haven't found anyone who has ever heard if this problem before so I
thought I'd bring it up here.

I have a 1998 Aurora that is parked during the day in an open lot in the mid
west. Temps are in the upper 80s to low 90s. I park with the front of the
car facing south so the sun shines on the passenger side from noon or so
until 6:00. The windows are up but slightly cracked. After the car has been
parked like this on sunny days neither passenger side window will work until
it cools down. I have to run the air on high for 30 to 40 minutes on the
drive home to get the right front window to work. Often the rear window
won't work until the next morning.

I tried an experiment and parked with the front pointed north so the sun
shone on the drivers side for the afternoon and when I went to leave work
these windows would not work until the air had been on for 30/40 minutes.
The windows don't start working at the same time so I don't think it's a
wiring problem common to both right or left side windows. I'm going to park
the car pointing west next week and see what happens.

Any suggestions?

Hi Farmer Bob:

Your power window problem sounds like a wiring connection problem at the
power window switch.

Changes in heat may contract or expand the connections causing the
electrical connection to become open at times.

You may have to open the power window switch area and reconnect the
wires, after cleaning the connections, to the switch.

I experience this same problem with my 1985 Cadillac Cimarron.  By the
way, I'm in the process of buying a 1995 Olds Aurora, possibly this
weekend.  Wish me luck!  :-)
