I’ve had this car for about 4 years and it has about 60k miles on it
now.  It has a 3.7L V6 and auto trans.  When hot after coming to a
stop and then accelerating the trans will "shudder".  It only does
it about 1 out of 10 times and seems to be worse if I’m heading uphill
or accelerate quite quickly after comiing to a stop.  No other shudder
in shifting or operation is noticed.  It’s done this since I bought it
when it had 20k miles on it.

I had the tranny "serviced" a few months ago.  They pulled the pan
and changed fluid.  There was no noticable metal filings in the pan
and they felt the trans was in good shape.

I’ve tried aftermarket tranny additives with no success.  Should I be
worried? Or is this a sign of problems to come?  Or is there a simple
fix?  Advice is appreciated.

It needs to be scanned with a trans capable scanner to check pressure
controls and signs of internal slippage, also pending or history codes.

Thanks for the response.  Is this the kind of thing that needs to be
done at a dealer or can a tranny shop handle this type of diagnosis?

An up to date trans shop should handle this ok.
