hello all. I have a 1994 Olds 88 royale with a tranny (other?)problem.
It seems when it's been sitting awhile I'll start and shift smoothly
into all gears. After driving awhile (maybe 20 min), the car wont shift
into 3rd gear  (or OD) - it normally seems to go into 3rd at around
50-60 and OD at 80 (correct me if I'm wrong), when its working.  I'll
try shifiting through gears (at slow speeds) to see if I can get it to
"catch", to no avail. While in gear and pressing the gas, it seems to
hesitate slightly before it "catches" (like theres a little play in the
gas pedal before it moves).

Not sure if its related or not, shifting into Park sometimes takes a
little effort - it seems to be stuck on something inside and it takes
some pressure to push it into park.  Shifting back into gears feels
normal.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Shift linkage binding is one problem, 3rd gear should come at about 30-35,
od and 4th about 50-55. See if the fluid is full, is it burnt? Should have
trans scanned for slippage and function data/codes.

thanks for your prompt response!  Tranny fluid full and is not burnt or
dark in color as i had it changed around 20000km ago (with new filter).
Will try getting a scan of codes to see if that will aid with the
problem.  It really seems to me to be connected to the hard shifiting
into park.  Like I said before: shifitng back into park from drive
needs alot of pressure on the stick to get it into place. definetly
dosent feel right.

Again, thanks for the help.
