Taking off a harmonic balancer on a Delta 88 Olds

We are trying to get a factory original harmonic balancer off a Delta 88.
When we put a wrench on the nut holding the casing on, the whole balancer
moves, making it difficult to get the nut loosened. Is there a  special
tool name or technique someone can give us as an idea about to remove it.
Thanks.

Year of car helps.

The year of the car is a 1988 Delta 88 Oldsmobile. Upon further
observation, it's not a nut we were trying to loosen but a crank bolt in
the middle of the balancer. When we try to loosen it, the balancer moves
too which gives us no resistence in removing it. We have also spray a
lubricant too. We have removed the front right wheel and splash guard to
gain better access, breaking a worn tie rod, oh boy, more money. The
installer is for a screw in balancer, will it work? But until we get the
old one off, we are stuck.

Impact gun, air or electric will get the bolt out.

Obviously the motor is still in the car, You might try putting a breaker bar
through the balancer to hold it (wedge it against the motor as you turn)
otherwise I agree with the air ratchet
