I have a 1997 Eighty-eight LSS 90,000 miles and i got a code:  P 1870
I haven"t had any  problems and took it to my mechanic and the service
department of the dealer.  Can someone help me with the code?  Thank
you.

This code referes to slippage sensed when in lock up, there are several
possibilties all internal, the most common is the valve body, almost every
trans shop is thoroughly versed on this problem.

I would tend to agree, in 2001 I had the same problem with my 98 GMC S15
Sonoma (right as I was leaving a car show at Summit Racing...) the replaced
the valve body and it worked fine since then.
