The 206cc plip will only lock, not unlock the boot. In order to unlock the
boot, you need to use the key every time :( I'm trying to mod this on my
2003 mux model, I wondered if anyone else had done it and suceeded and can
give me some pointers?

These instructions (in German) explain how to do this on the 2001/2002
models (non mux) and suggest on that model they ground the "unlock" side of
the boot actuator and only connect up the +12v pulse to the "lock" side of
it. Restoring (re-running) the "unlock" pulse wire to the BSI restores this.
One of the mods given here adds a microswitch so the boot only unlocks
without the key when the roof is up.

I had a quick look at mine and the two cables disappear into the loom down
the left hand side with a yellow/green and light brown cable (numbers
10425/2010 and 21/0710). I ran out of time to look further for now but if
anyone has any pointers I'd be grateful. I'm just conscious on the mux model
they may have run both wires back to the BSI and disabled the feature in
software.

Cheers

i understand why but to be honest if you upset the bsi in any way whatsoever
you will end up in deep sh.t
i know some people have done this but there are several versions of the bsi
with different versions of software installed
i would leave it
but thats just my opinion

Well that's true but it's a pain in the rear that it doesn't unlock with the
plip when there's no good reason why not.

I think the idea was that the car locked with the roof down (deadlocks off)
could be opened by pulling the door lock up and then the boot would be open.
But it takes 20 seconds to put the roof back on you'd be a moron to leave
the car unattended with the roof off anyway, it's an excuse for someone to
fill your car with rubbish!

Volts is volts though, the BSI shouldn't be too upset, it has to provide the
12v to open the door actuators, why not the boot too?

Cheers,
Dave
