brake problem

my car is a f reg  405 diesel,and when i go to park the car,put the
handbrake on then take my foot of the brake the car roles back and up. is
this normal?

Yes.

Suspension design means the rear wheels will pivot around the mount point
(ie, up or down) when locked inplace, if you aren't on a level surface.

Agreed ... and makes for interesting hill starts til you get used to it,
especially if someone is very close behind you.

In Paris you see the same thing happen wih the buses ... Renaults I think.
