405 windscreen trim

Are there two types of windscreen trim on a 92 405 TD - silver and
black? Ours had a silver trim, but the man who changed the screen while
I was away said he only had black, and my wife accepted that. It looks
to me, though, like he left out the trim, as there is a slot in the
sides and top of the rubber surrounding the screen. Does it matter?

Sounds like the guy was a lazy b****** and took advantage of your
wife?s ignorance.
The Silver trim is removed first to allow the rubber trim to be
removed.
After re-fitting the screen he should have replaced your existing
silver trim components. From what you say, I guess he probably damaged
them badly while removing them and simply threw them away.
Bad luck.
