I have a Pug 206, 1.4 petrol, manual T reg (1999). Last night it
started to play up. on accelleration (2500-4000 rpm) the engine would
stutter, after about 3 seconds the engine management light would come
on. Went to take it to pug today and the engine stuttered and cut out
at about 25 mph. now it will not restart.
Any help on diagnostics or even if this is heard of before (i.e. money
wise) would be greatly appreciated

damp spark plug connections? I had a similar thing with my 306 petrol
which used to do this. After a while and after a few times I narrowed
it down to oxidised connections on the rotor arm thing (where all the
spark leads connect to a strange square thing) and on the top of the
spark plugs themselves. WD40 both ends and see if that makes a
difference. Has it been missing when its been raining by chance?

I have just bought a 206. It keeps juddering it seems to happen when i've
been driving for 30 minutes or so its really worrying me as i bought this car
private sale. When taking the test drive everything was fine maybe this was
because i was only driving the car for 20 mins. Has anyone any idea why this
would be happening? Originally i thought it was because i was not used to the
gears but it happens all the time!
