Noticed that my fuel gauge was reading zero, knew that I had fuel, a little
later on starting the car fuel gauge was normal, if the problem re-occurs
is there anything I can check or is this just another example of dodgy
Peugeot electronics!

I sometimes get this if I turn the key straight to start it, without waiting
a second at the ignition stage. IF this happens, I just have to switch the
engine off and start it again, and it's all fine. Don't know if this is the
same as your problem,
