I could write the same about my german, and as I haven't spoke english for a
while now I guess any english citizen would think I'm just speaking french
:-)

I'm going to have a look and bring some info back.

OK Jeff, here's my solution to this problem : work french harder :-)
Well, here's what is said : Final setting up has begun @ Poissy [one of
PSA's plants, I didn't know they were doing some R&D down here, I believed
it was @ Velizy or La Garenne-Colombes], and some cars will be produced on
the chains in June. The 207 (codename : A07) will have a hatchback
architecture based on the PF1 platform, with long wheelbase distance, also
used by the C3 [Come on, I know all this since... 06/2003]. Some bodykit
elements in composite & aluminium (for example, front wings & bonnet). The
front drivetrain will have a pseudo-McPherson structure and back will be
207-specific.
The 207 will be the first car having the new 1.6 unit, co-engineered by BMW.
Capacity is 1598cc, this will have the Valvetronic system [I guess it's the
same than Porsche's Variocam, gently managed by the Motronic 7.x or 8.x],
max power 115HP, max torque 160N.m @ 4250RPM [quite close to a Mk1 405SRi,
that's where we see the progress]. The other motors available will be the
classic 1.4 75HP, 1.4 16v 90HP, when Diesels will be the 1.4 HDi 70HP, and
both 1.6 HDi 90 or 110HP.
Official introduction in January, 2006 but a concept-car will be in Francort
from 09/13/2005.
The sedan, 3 and 5-doors will be produced in Trnava (Slovak republic) and
Possy (France), SW and CC versions will be produced in Madrid (Spain).
At release (March 2006) will the 206 be available as 3, 5 doors & SW. The CC
could be released at the same time.
Some months later, the 206 should have a new engine, 1.6 petrol, turbo,
direct injection offering 143HP [DIN, not BHP, I still only use metric],
while waiting for the RC (170HP). The 2007 monospace will come one year
later.
Cheers,
G.T

Hi Jeff,

Indeed, that wasn't much of a job to do :-)
BTW, but I guess you noticed that, my (very) personnal comments are noted
between [].

Out of the frying pan into the fire? Or was that when you went to
Renault? I always think, better the devil you know, which is why I've
stuck with Peugeot since they bought Chrysler out in 1978 (or was it
79?). I started with Rootes. God that makes me old!!
