I have fitted a new battery in my remote but it will not work.

Do I have to "recode" the remote and how do I do it?

The other remote works OK.

This was posted some time ago - I don't have the op's ident.
I kept it JIC and it certainly worked for me. Thanks whoever it was !

"Ok Guys So programming a key into a Peugeot is dead easy,
I am telling you this so you dot have to go to the dealers and pay £xx +vat
for them to do it,"Open the door  with the key fob with new batteries, sit
in the car, turn
on the ignition and count to ten. After ten seconds turn off the ignition
and you should hear a series of beeps, press the main button on the remote
and it will be automatically programmed for you."
