406 clicking drivers side not recurculation fan

got a really anoying clicking sound under dash right above headlamp
ajustment dial dealers havent got a clue hope somebody can give me one
a clue that is cheers

If the layout is similar to the 405, the recirc motor and flap is on the
left and the thermostatic heater mixer flap uses a similar motor &gearbox
combination (but not the same! )on the right hand side.
Does the clicking change when you request a different heater temperature?

Worn check-strap for the driver's door ?
