406 estate rear wheeel bearing.

hi all. got a 98 mk1 406 estate. 2.0 lpg. 165,000 miles needs a rear
wheel bearing, can you just remove the hub and change the bearing?.
the book says not, but hey thats the book.....cheers bernie.

If it's discs on the back you renew the hub and bearing combined. £95
a couple of months ago from Peugeot. Part Number 374868. Whether you
can get it cheaper elsewhere I don't know. Probably the same sort of
idea for drums, but I don't know for sure.
