I need to remove the rear off side stub axle due to damaged threads.
I would be most grateful if anyone can provide details of how to do this or
point me in the right direction.

The Haynes manual was a waste of money

Many Thanks

You need to hit it with a hammer and a drift, preferably a copper
drift. I actually use a metal drift, a cut down rocker shaft, and a
good large hammer. I put the hub nut back on to the stub axle, after
you have removed the drum, not all the way, just to protect the
threads. In your case I guess you don't need to do that! If you are
renewing it, make sure the new one is exactly the same. There are a
few different ones in use. AFAIK Peugeot don't sell these, but Citroen
do. Always use a new nut and peen it to lock it.

There is an hexagonal hole for a 11 or 12mm allen key on the rear face of
the stub axle. Is this to lock the stub axle in position in any way? Or are
we saying it's just on a taper?

I have ordered the TIS manual but it won't be here for a few days.

Job done.
Quick tap with a hammer and out she comes.
It's just on a  spline

Many Thanks Nigel
