car misses/misfires/coughs in low gears on first use!?

306 sedan sr 1.8 petrol.  When i start the car it just seems to cough
and miss when i set off in say 1st or 2nd gear. It does it alot when i
put the foot right  down on the gas, if i take my foot off a bit it
starts to pick up, then goes fine. its as if it flooding it with
petrol? new plugs needed or something else? please help

Peter, we've already answered your question !
Your diagnostic light is lit - you need to read the fault code, and fix the
problem. As per your owners manual, that light is indicating an engine
(sensor) fault. Until you cure the fault, then your cold-running and
fuel-economy aren't going to get any better !
