Does anyone have some idea what my pug 206 1.9 diesel should be doing to the
gallon. I havent a clue as this is my first diesel car, I have worked out
that its doing 40 or so to the gallon doing mostly town driving.   Also what
should it's tick-over speed be on cold?? My car has done 28k on a 51 plate
fsh.

Ours in a '53 plate 1.9 (50K)and is getting ~54mpg but is mainly used
for motorway driving. Tickover is ~900rpm haven't noticed much of a
difference (if any) between hot and cold idling but then again haven't
looked!
