hi,

I have a 1999 V 206 2.0L HDI,

I was driving to work this morning doing about 60mph...
I slowed down for a corner......
the speedo did not, I arrived at work and turned the ignition off.
the speedo sat at 70MPH when i finished work I noticed that the speedo
still kind of worked but it thought '70' was '0' so when i was traveling
about 30mph
it read 100Mph...roughly... I got home and looked into the haynes manual but
nothing specific to this problem i went and had another look and discovered
that
switching the ignition on and off dropped the speedo dial from about 70 MPh
down
a little to about 62 and kept on turning ignition on and off about ten times
until it
eventually reached zero....

started car up drove to end of road and when i stoped at the junction the
speedo
fluctuated and wouldn't go under 30MPh....
so it now thinks 30 is the new zero..
until i go a little faster...

Any ideas anyone?
cheers chris

sorry to tell you, but I had the same problem with my 206 a couple of years
ago. The speedo had to be replaced at a hefty 4200 DKK (roughly  550 ?).
Hope your price is cheeper.
Cheers Peter
