My other halfs 52 plate 206 1.9HDi (~53K) has started to make a noise, best described as being like hitting a thick cast iron pipe with a soft faced mallet(!) when going over bumps/potholes. Sounds like its coming from the rear suspension but doesn't do it every time or when there is more weight at the back (eg when there are back seat passengers or the tanks full). Had a look myself but couldn't see anything so have had it into the local garage and they couldn't find anything though they did tighten all the suspension bolts. Car has a towbar fitted (was fitted when we got it but we haven't used it). Any ideas? Amazing how a loose spare wheel or something can sound like broken suspension. Thanks guys, I've already done all the obvious stuff prior to posting - removed spare wheel and carrier, checked exhaust (first thing I suspected!) etc plus I would hope the guys at the garage would have checked the shocks and mounts before going to the trouble of tightening the subframe bolts but I will have another root around this weekend weather permitting. > No no, I am from Addlestone myself, but I only posted in this topic to > say hello, I didn't start it. well so you dont buy people a drink. that have a pug and live in ADDLESTONE SURREY??? |
