After 30 months of Peugeot ownership I've had enough and sold my way out.
Never again!
I just want to thank all the contributors on this forum for their help in
keeping me going when my local Dealership could hardly have cared less. The
recalls, the missed faults, the low service standards. My faith in this
brand has been severly dented by the attitude of local dealership.
So as I most likely wont be visiting anymore I just wanted to say, Thanks
Guys!

I'm counting off the days until I can say the same. I've a Skoda
Fabia vRS on order, which should hopefully be with me by the end of
the month.

Let us know your feelings on the Skoda, particularly the ride and seat
comfort.
One of the things putting me n the missus off the whole VW experience is the
tuetonic ride.

E-mail me in a couple of months & I'll let you know. By that time I
won't be subscribing here.

Good luck with whatever you have bought. It can't be any worse...

I doubt your dealer could be as bad as mine :-(
I've just received a letter from Peugeot that claims they've spent an
inordinate amount of time of my vehicle. Maybe if they'd built it
properly in the first place, or fixed it with some degree of competence,
they wouldn't have needed to...
(and yes, my 807 is in the dealership at the moment - again!)

I'd have to agree with the sentiments about the main dealers: I bought
my 406 2nd hand from a main dealer and had a years warranty. It started
losing coolant at 11 months; put it in for them to have a look and
guess what, they couldn't id the fault. Given that there were no
external leaks my guess was that it's a leaking head gasket - but the
delaers response was that although it probably was this, they wouldn't
proceed under the warranty, I'd have to go ahead at risk. That risk
equals maybe £1200. Not an option for me, too expensive. Two things
here - 1) the 2nd hand warranty is shite 2) the diagnostic service is
shite.
However - my wife bought a vw polo from new a few years back and this
was infiitely worse than my pug; endless major, costly problems and the
main dealer service was truly appalling. Within 3 years we were
replacing things like ABS computer, electronic fuel management computer
and so on, things that should last the life of the car. The central
locking has recently packed up and if you look around a breakers yard
you'll soon realise that this is extremely common - these parts are
always gone from the vehicles, like gold-dust. Bottom line for me is
that whilst my pug is currently a pain, I can get my head round a blown
HG, and once fixed am sure the car will plod along for years and years,
whereas the VW will probably be in the breakers by the time it's 7 or 8
years old.

Me too. The 307 hasn't been much fun over the last three years. Next week
our Volvo S40 arrives and the Pug goes. This has been a helpful group
through the troubles.
