They're announced as being freely downloadable at Peugeot's technical
website, free registration, see http://public.infotec.peugeot.com/. Seems to
cover any Pug since 2001 (yeah, a bit late I guess, I would have loved some
other older models were covered too).

Free registration. Uh, no. They want payment for the time you are on
line, minimum 1 hour, and will not allow you access to the site until you

Totally incorrect - free registration allows you free access to the owner
manuals for all Peugeots. I have just used it.

Weird. When I tried, whatever selection I tried to make sent me to a "You
haven't paid yet" page.

After registration you should see two clickable sections in the top left
hand corner. One is for branded Pug products and one is for user manuals.
You might need to allow pop ups as well.
