Hello
Can anyone help? I bought a 406 GTX 110bhp V reg about 15 months ago.
I love my car its great, fast and I love it, best car that I have ever
bought. But and its a bit but, things are going all weird on my
wonderful car! The left hand indicator keeps coming on on its own
accord and Im finding it difficult to turn off, if I do get it off it
comes back on again, i do a lot of motorway driving and its causing me
major hassle with some guy threatening me the other day hanging out of
his window, as I had not seen it come on. Then few weeks ago the
airbag light came on (had it seen to ?? whats wrong) but after a week
it went off and has not been back on since! Also on the message board
when I put the handbrake on it keeps saying Brake Fluid Low,( again
when its not and I cant get this message off). Has anyone else had
these problems Im going mad!!
Thank you

You probably need a new indicator stalk, the wiring under the seat for
the airbag light, and, for definite, a new handbrake warning light
switch.

Hiya claire, before you go spending any money try this first.
i have exact same car/year /model. i had the same faults as you ie. the
airbag & low brake fluid warning when all was ok. on my 406 i just split
connectors under drivers seat and cleaned them with a rag, airbag fault
went away.( you will prob loose time settings on dash but easy to re-set.
for the brake fluid i just screwed off fluid cap and pet back on, the
sensor or the lid was dirty and cable a slight twist. hope this helps.

The only permenant cure for the old 'wires under the seat' problem is to
snip out the connector and solder the wires together.
The low oil level warning's a common one on 406s, if it only happens when
the handbrakes pulled on, it's the handbrake switch.
(I started off doing what you suggest, and convinced myself it'd cured it
for a week or so).
A search of this group will turn up a good few reports of both these
problems.

Hello...new to this forum and at the end of my tether!!!! Need some help on the old indicator problem. Wondered if anyone has had any joy on getting this sorted. 206 GTi My indicator is also indicating left by itself and is getting worse. To the point wher i cant go far. Its worse 1st thing in the morning. Took it in to peugeot and they say it didnt do it while it was there and if i wanted a new stclk i could come back (£100!!!). Im wondering if it need a new stalk or if its water in the electrics.
And to top it all off the alarm is going off by itself usually when it rains. The only way i can make sure it doesnt happen is to set the isolator switch on before i set it. Again peugeot could find no fault
Do i need a specialist or should i send it back to peugeot?
Thank
