egr valve on 406

I've been adivesed that the EGR valve may be at fault on my on the 406
2.1 has anyone played around with the egr valve IE how to tell if it's
stuck open ore closed. and how much they are to buy.

cant watson diesels do it for you?

Hi Chris
It was watson diesels that recormended I check the egr valve out. but I
just wondered if there was a way of testing them n stuff

The best thing to do it take it off and throw it away, make a blanking
plate to block it off, EGR is just another waste of time , all they do
is fill your intake manifold with crap,
