My car is 4 years old and there is a problem with the gears which
nobody can get to the bottom of. It has been to 2 Peogeot garages, an
independent garage and a gear box specialist. When driving the gears
seize up and I can’t change gear or even get it into any gear. I have
to stop and turn the engine off and on again and its ok. This only
happens when I’m stopping and starting in traffic. I hate driving it
as I never know when its going to happen and I’m worried it will cause
an accident. Peogeot say its in fine working order and the gear box
specialist changed the gear box oil. Does anyone have any idea what
could be wrong?

Sal, given that it only happens when your stopping and starting, it sounds
like the clutch isn't releasing properly; did anyone check out the clutch
for you?
