I have a 406 1998 R Reg 2.1 TD. Speedo has worked intermitently for 12
months and now packed in. Mileage not being clocked up. Have paid for
a second hand instrument panel, which includes rev counter, temperature
gauge.I was told it had been tested but when changed with my panel the
speedo still didnt work.

However, decided to my old instrument panel in and now half the
backlighting is not working but backlighting was working before things
were changed around.

Any ideas, I dont want to get rid of car but dont want to pay loads to
put this right.

INTERMITTANT BREAK IN THE WIRING.I TOO HAVE TRIED TO REPLACE THE
INSTRUMENT PANEL,GET A MANUAL ON IT ITS CHEAPER THAN A GARAGE,GOOD LUCK!.

Could be a stuck caps lock key?

Justin unbuttoned Clothilde's tight blouse and her breasts fell out. He
picked them up and put them back in again.
"Thank you," said Clothilde, polite even in passion. "I'm always losing
them."

I also have a 406 1998 R Reg 2.1 TD and have the same problem with
backlights. They seem to be very poor connectors. I find that thumping the
dash generally gets them back on!

....i have a 91 405 DL US Model and the same thing....but, i thought
my problem was something
with the cable?  because, one day when i pushed the 'reset' button on
the trip odometer, it never
worked again....anyways, ive gotten used to it now...

when i'm down near NY, ill stop in and see Alberto at Ramsey
Peugeot....he's in Ramsey NJ and has tons of parts and 90's Peugeot
out back...
