im having the same problem with my 206 1.4 its a bit noisy too, engine
management light came on all flashy so i took it to the garage and they
told me is was my igition coils so i replaced both spark plugs and the
ignition coil pack then my car run for about 25 miles on my way to work
with the engine management light still on but static then the misfireing
noise came back again then my engine light started flashing again, at the
moment im running my car on 3 cylinders due to the missfireing now i got
crafty i called the AA out while i was on my way home from work pretended
to break down and they came out changed the plugs again and the coils and
it was still the same but then another problem i found in the meanwhile, i
noticed the injection valve on the far right was loose when i pushed or
pulled it petrol sqirted out but does not leak even with my car running,
the AA guy took a look at that too but he said if its not leaking while
the car is running its fine that wont be the problem which then lead to
another possible problem the AA guy told me that its maybe one of the
engine valves has gone all funny under the head gasket but he didnt check
that just advised me to go to a garage but the garage prices suck so bad
especially when its xmas and no way of affording a possible £200+ bill i
have been running my car in this state for 3days with crap acceleration
max speed of 65mph and a noise that sounds like my exhust has blown and
yes checked all that too if i hope its nothing too expesive or serious dmg
hopefully with some advice i can DIY this issue with no mechanic rippin me
off anyone has any advice about this plz call/text 07841847888 email

Sorry chap but is there any way you could fit some punctuation into all
that? If you want people to help you then the least you could do is to make
it reasonably readable. It's not a big thing but a few full stops and
capital letters might help. I'm not asking for perfect grammar or spelling,
just a few sentences.

Well now there's a thing, I didn't
realise that an A grade in English
language was necessary to post on this
news group. I could understand perfectly
what he was asking. I suppose an D grade
in manners would help you, or are you
just a pedantic Pratt.

Indeed. Would you recognise good manners when you see them? Obviously not,
Malc was nothing if not polite about his request.
Malc, make that count 1 for now, I'm sure there will be more ;-)

No, it makes you a prat. It's not rocket science using punctuation.

Well now, I ask politely for just a tad more punctuation and I get
abuse from you, whoever you are. I'm glad you can read illiterate
scrawl but many of us just give up. If you want abuse you can get it
from me but I post here to help people but I have to draw the line
somewhere.

understand fully what your saying mate. Basically my coil pack is
shorting out and need a new one. But as far as i can see only 1
connection is shorting out so it should still fire up on 3. I just
wondered if anyone knew why it still won’t start

I'm no expert.
However, petrol leak = bad.
Fix leak first, then look again.

If a car is miss-firing then it must be missing the correct amount of one or
more of the three main components of air, fire or fuel.

G

Remove the head .i think somthing under the head is giving you problems.
like a bent valve, or even a vale not closeing (due to carbon build
up)so it looks like a job you can do when the weather is better,
