I have bought and chaged all the other filters but cannot locate the

Unfortunately my Haynes BoL is in the car at the moment (and I'm not sure it
covers the HDi) so I'll take a guess. Probably near or part of the
thermostat housing?

According to the Haynes BoL it's on the front of the engine on the
passenger side in a black plastic container with 4 cap head screws on
the top.

On my 307 HDI 110 (2001) it is under the engine cover, centre front of
block. about 100mm diameter, black plastic, with a screw-on ring to hold it
together. You will see all the fuel pipes connecting to the top.
Warning, according to Hanes, it is a b*****d to open, and they wrecked
theirs in the process.
